Nya Ångström omfattar förutom den nya byggnaden om cirka 23 000 kvadratmeter, även en ny flygelbyggnad om cirka 8 000 kvadratmeter samt omflyttning och lokalanpassningar av befintliga lokaler. Uppdraget utfördes av Tema, som i april 2019 bytte namn till PE. Tema har sedan tidigare en historia med Ångströmlaboratoriet.
About two years have now passed since turning the first sod for the expansion of the Ångström Laboratory in what is the largest construction project in the history of the University. We have been allowed in to the construction site for the new building 10 by the entrance to Ångström Laboratory. The Ångström Laboratory is part of Polacksbacken.
Library is sponsoring material. Three 3D-printers are lined up along one glass wall. Their modest size makes it difficult to imagine that they would be capable of some of the more complex printing jobs. But appearances can be deceptive. Trainer David Wiberg has used one of them to print a copy of the University Library’s Carolina Rediviva
